Pastor's Message

When someone gives their “blessing,” what does that mean?  Is it more than approval or permission?  What significance is associated with a blessing?   God’s blessing bestows something good and beneficial on the one being blessed.  Essentially, in the Bible a blessing is a gift; it’s a statement of good will and happiness that is said about another, as well as the condition that fulfills those good words.  Before Jacob died, Joseph brought his sons to Jacob to be blessed by him.  He desired something good and happiness for his boys.  This Sunday we’ll begin looking at “The Family Blessing” as we consider Jacob’s words to Joseph’s sons, and consider the application to Christian families.
