This Sunday

A new sermon series begins this Sunday on the seven sayings of Jesus from the cross entitled The Most Important Last Words Ever Spoken.  During the six hours that Jesus Christ hung on the cross, he spoke seven times and each time he spoke very significant words before he died.  The first saying was The Word of Forgiveness from Luke 23:34, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”  This was a prayer request by the Son to the Father on the behalf of those who had rejected and crucified him.  What is there to learn about Jesus Christ from these words?  What hope is found in these words?  What grace?  What mercy?  In preparation for this Sunday’s message, please read Luke 23:26-38, and think on these words.  Practice “Selah.”  Take a deep breath and drink in the truth, slowly.
